TERAPES is a clinically tested post-operative shoe, indicated following mini-invasive and percutaneous forefoot operations, it can be used in case of bandaged foot and allows partial mobilization of the forefoot.
Clinical tests have shown that the semi-rigid biomechanical sole allows a more fluid progression of the step and discharge of the forefoot. Furthermore, extending the mid-stance time, the semi-rigid biomechanical technology protects the metatarsals by reducing the mobility of the metatarsophalangeal joint, thus allowing an early recovery of motor functions (Clinical study on discharge footwear in the post-surgical course, 2012).
The tip-to-ground beat angle is accentuated to help the natural rolling of the foot, helping to simulate the natural walk.
The seamless, padded nylon upper and Velcro fasteners make TERAPES also excellent for treating dorsal, interdigital and subungual ulcers and in cases of fragile skin or sensitive skin as they prevent bothersome rubbing and painful friction.
The double Velcro closure allows the front part of the shoe to be completely opened and to regulate the internal volume, allowing to accommodate swollen or oedematous feet and to insert finished or tailored insoles.
Its practicality and lightness, the easy fit and the details that are combined with new technologies make TERAPES efficient and at the same time comfortable in its use.
